£35,444 to £39,177

We are looking to recruit a Civil Litigation solicitor or Barrister to join our busy in-house legal services department.

The successful candidate will be a solicitor or barrister entitled to practice in England and holding a current practicing certificate. The successful candidate must have over 3 years PQE and extensive knowledge and experience in Civil Litigation. You must be willing and able to deal with complex matters and represent the Council at Court.

ARMED FORCES INTERVIEW SCHEME

Rochdale Borough Council has Member approval to implement a proposal to guarantee an interview from ex-service personnel applicants where they meet certain qualifying criteria.

The aim of this proposal is to deliver the Council’s commitment to further ‘the Armed Forces Community Covenant’ to ensure that ex-armed forces personnel are not disadvantaged, when applying for job vacancies, as a result of their service.

Ex-service personnel will be guaranteed an interview under the Scheme where they meet the following conditions:
  • They must meet the essential criteria for the post set out within the Person Specification.
  • The armed forces must be their last known long term employer.
  • They have been looking for a job for between 6-24 months since they left the Armed Forces.
