£30,785 - £33,437 per annum (pro rota if part time)

Permanent, Full time or part time considered

37 hours per week for the Full time role (a minimum of 25 hours per week if the role is part time)

Based in Chichester

Due to an expanding workload West Sussex County Council’s Property Legal Team is recruiting either a legal executive or a solicitor to join an existing team of eight lawyers dealing with a wide range of innovative, exciting and challenging commercial property and land law matters.

You will either be a qualified legal executive or a qualified solicitor (or possess an equivalent qualification and experience) working in private practice or local government.  This challenging role will require an individual who can manage a complex caseload.  You will need to produce high quality work with the ability to provide complex advice aligned to the needs of your clients and the political objectives of the organisation.  Your knowledge, experience and advice will be vital.  We’ll be looking to you to ensure robust advice is provided to the council to enable it to meet legal requirements and demonstrate good decision making.

You will join a dynamic team and the role offers a varied and challenging workload, a supportive working environment and an excellent work-life balance in beautiful West Sussex.
