What to Expect in the Role:
You will lead and manage your Team to provide legal advice and support to both Stratford-on-Avon District Council and Warwick District Council.
Using your strong People Management experience, you will coach your team, build a positive team culture, enable your team to develop excellent relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders and effectively manage services to ensure the delivery of high-quality services, which positively impact the lives of those we serve.
The roles will be the Lead lawyer for the legal work areas within their Team, delivering to a diverse range of services in areas and communities across Stratford-on-Avon and Warwick Districts, ensuring that the residents, businesses and visitors of the District are getting the best possible outcomes, for the best possible price.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities (Please see Job Description and Person Specification for more details):
- Overall day-to-day management of 7 lawyers.
- Manage the effective delivery of the Councils’ Legal services within your Team area.
- Manage and deliver effectively a personal caseload of legal matters including those of a complex and/or sensitive nature
- Responsible and accountable for the performance of the services within your Team providing leadership for staff, championing a ‘can-do’ approach, flexibility, team working and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Need (Please see Job Description and Person Specification for more details):
- Significant experience in at least one of the legal areas of work covered by the relevant team (i.e. Commercial, residential or development)
- Leadership, people management or supervisory skills or evidence of a commitment to developing these skills.
- As a minimum, a basic understanding of the concepts underpinning administrative and corporate law as it relates to local government.
- Excellent standard of written and verbal communication.
