Salary £30,153 - £38,237

This is exciting opportunity to join our busy Legal Service at Dorset County Council, in the picturesque county town of Dorchester.

You will assist in providing a Legal Service to our Adult and Community Service teams, including advice and support on Adult Safeguarding, Court of Protection and Care and Mental Health Act advice.  You will need to be confident advising at all stages of cases and have the ability to undertake court work.

We are seeking a knowledgeable, passionate and creative-thinking Lawyer, who wants to help us make a difference.

The Council offers many excellent employee benefits including access to a pension scheme, childcare vouchers, car and bike salary sacrifice scheme, generous annual leave, flexible working arrangements, support for further training and professional development, all in addition to working in a friendly and supportive work environment. 

We are looking for applicants with good technical knowledge (ideally in a Local Government context although this is not essential) and able to demonstrate a “can do” approach. 

You must be organised and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision while still being a valuable team player. Applicants must also have excellent communication skills enabling them to build strong relationships with clients.

This post is open to qualified Solicitors, Barristers and Fellows of CILEX that are able to meet the specific requirements of the role.

The Council requires you to hold and maintain a valid Practicing Certificate, at your own cost.
