Your next role

We now have a full time role for a Solicitor or Registered Legal Executive to join our Property Legal Team. Preferably you will have at least two years’ experience in commercial property matters with a public sector focus who is able to provide legal support to the Council.  You will arrive at solutions through careful research and analysis, and show strong interpersonal skills necessary to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues. Once established, you will also be capable of working with limited support and supervision. As part of the Council you’ll support an ambitious local authority where you will get to see the positive impact you make. 

You will based within a four person team supporting the Council in a broad range of property matters, predominately containing a mixture of property asset management matters including drafting leases, various licences and incidental advice. You will also provide support on more substantial development and regeneration matters in the form of particular land sales and development agreements. The role will also have scope to include exposure to other areas dependent on service needs, such as planning and highways agreements which the Property team cover as well as providing legal advice and support to clients, committees, members and senior officers. You will also support and mentor less experienced colleagues.
