£44,862 - £54,135 per annum

Maternity Cover Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Housing Litigation team for a dedicated, enthusiastic and able lawyer to join our dynamic legal team.

We are looking for an applicant with good technical knowledge, who is able to hold a substantial caseload.  You will also be required to undertake some advocacy.
You must be organised and be able to work under pressure while being a valuable team player and be able to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines. Applicants must also have excellent communication skills enabling them to build strong relationships with clients.

Main duties of the job
The primary function of the post will be to work collaboratively with colleagues across the Council dealing with housing management and homelessness.

We are looking for a lawyer (solicitors, barristers or FILEX) with a minimum of two years post qualification experience in the legal profession or exceptional experience of shorter duration.

You will have knowledge of housing law and related legislation and experience of conducting housing litigation. You will have to be highly motivated and a team player.

Working for our organisation
You will be working within the Housing Litigation Team within the Legal Services Department.

The post has a number of basic, key duties but also involves responding to a rapidly changing environment. You must be adaptable, flexible and able to prioritise tasks on a daily basis.
