£43,421 - £48,474 per annum

Lancashire is the fourth largest local authority in England and spans twelve districts that cover a huge geographic area and a range of communities, both urban and rural.  We deliver a wide range of services to the 1.2 million people who live here.  Lancashire's Legal Environment team supports a wide range of internal clients advising on a range of highways, planning and environmental matters.

The role is for a Solicitor or equivalent whose responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting a case load of s38, s278 and s106 agreements, public rights of way and other planning and enforcement and licence/consent matters.
  • Reviewing and drafting Committee reports and attending and advising at Committee meetings of the County Council relating to highways, planning and public rights of way.
  •  Attending Court and Public Inquiries. 

We are a friendly team working on a hybrid basis.  The post is based at County Hall, Preston, but employees have the ability and opportunity to work from home.

We will consider lawyers from any setting as well as newly qualified lawyers who can demonstrate a strong work ethic and professional attitude.
