About your new role
Our national Commercial team works with a wide range of clients both private and public.

We provide a comprehensive range of commercial services encompassing:
  • Commercial contracts
  • Technology
  • Data protection
  • Intellectual property
  • Competition, energy work and public projects
  • We advise on a variety of contracts from day-to-day business relationships up to major projects.
Our clients are in various sectors such as technology, media, retail, pharmaceutical, insurance transport and logistics, manufacturing alongside work within the public sector for universities, NHS bodies, police forces and local authorities.

The team is national with coverage across our Liverpool, London, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow offices.

Weightmans operates a hybrid working policy with at least two days a week working in the office.

About your new role
Our national Commercial team has a strong presence in the world of primary care

We are looking for an solicitor with experience working with primary care providers and in particular general practitioners

This role will involve
  • Preparation and review and negotiation of Partnership documentation for medical and dental practitioners
  • Providing general partnership advice
  • Working on partnership mergers
  • Advice and documentation of partnership retirements whether voluntary or compulsory
  • NHS Contract advice
  • Advising primary care networks
Weightmans operates a hybrid working policy with at least two days a week working in the office.
 
Key Duties
Your new role will cover the following key aspects:
  • Work on matters covering the services outlined above
  • Work with Partners and other senior members of the wider primary care team on complex matters
  • Work on your own matters where appropriate
  • Drafting, reviewing, advising on and negotiating contracts of a nature listed above
  • Develop internal relationships as a starting point
  • Assist with business development initiatives
  • Work in accordance with Weightmans’ values and procedures;
  • Manage matters in accordance with client service level agreements;
  • Achieve financial and chargeable time targets;
  • Comply with Weightmans policies and procedures;
  • Complete client management information as and when required.

About You
Experience of working on commercial contracts at 3 to 5+PQE level

We would be looking for someone with the following skills:
  • Experience in primary care
  • Knowledge of NHS primary care service contracts
  • Knowledge of NHS primary care funding
  • Willingness to learn new areas – including some of technology, data and public procurement;
  • Communication and listening skills
  • Good drafting skills with attention to detail
  • Commercial awareness
  • Conscientious, self-motivated, hard-working, and responsive;
  • Critical thinking abilities and excellent communication, organisation and analytical skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Willingness and ability to support junior team members
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and client protocols while maintaining high standards
