£39,660 - £47,664 (subject to pay and grading review)

Cornwall Council Legal Service is looking for an enthusiastic Lawyer to join their small but busy Adult Social Care Team on a permanent basis. The Team deals with a varied caseload including Court of Protection and Deprivation of Liberty matters, Mental Health, Safeguarding, Charging, Ordinary residence and general Care Act advice.  We also represent clients in the Coroner’s Court.
 
The ideal candidate will be qualified as a solicitor/Legal Executive or equivalent and will have experience of the Court of Protection and advocacy skills, together with relevant knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and Care Act. The work will predominantly be court based but there will be opportunities to develop into other areas of specialism.
 
You will be provided with support from our friendly Team and flexibility of working with the potential of an appointment to Senior Lawyer for the right candidate based on knowledge and experience.
