To support the Head of Legal & Monitoring Officer, we have created two smaller teams: a Regulatory Team and Property & Contracts Team and there are opportunities within each of these teams, in the following areas:
- Principal Regulatory & Governance Lawyer (Lead) to lead the Regulatory Arm
- Principal Property & Contracts Lawyer (Lead) to lead the Property Arm
- Principal Regulatory Lawyer
- Principal Property Lawyer
- Senior Regulatory Lawyers x 2

Consequently, we have restructured and expanded our Legal Services Team to support the delivery of these priorities, creating new opportunities for those that are looking for a challenge in helping shape and enhance this new Legal Team.
The main responsibilities are to provide professional legal advice and support to the Councils’ Assets and Property Team. The Principal Property Lawyer is responsible for supporting the Property and Contracts lawyers in providing advice and support for acquisitions and disposals, leases, contracts and procurement, complex advice and including specific project work. This role supports the Principal Property Lawyer (Lead) as business partner for the Assets and Property Team by proactively engaging and collaborating with them about their business needs.
The Principal Property Lawyer may be required to support the two deputy Monitoring Officers and the Head of Legal Services and Monitoring Officer to respond to code of conduct complaints and other governance-related issues.
