£38,509 - £40,636 (inclusive of 15% Market Supplement)

Temporary/fixed term - 6 months.

If you are solicitor or barrister looking for your next challenge and to develop your knowledge, skills and experience within planning and development management spheres and want to work in a supportive legal environment, then Wiltshire Council Legal Services may have the role within its Planning team suited for you.

LIVE∙WORK∙ADVISE

About the role

In this role you will give advice to all departments of the Council. You will be responsible for and have conduct of an interesting and varied case load covering all aspects of planning and public law.

About you

You will have between 0 – 2 years PQE and be comfortable working within a committed and supportive environment. You will have good research and analytical skills. You will have a keen interest in planning law particularly within the local government sphere. Public sector law experience would be beneficial, though not essential.

The localism agenda and the new ways of working developing out of the pandemic is pushing fundamental change in the way local authorities (including in-house legal services) do business. This is an excellent position for someone who wishes to gain experience in that changing environment.

The successful applicant should also have a willingness to develop knowledge of corporate governance and general public law concepts.
