Salary: £47,665

Base: Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire

We seek a solicitor to advise on planning matters as part of the Legal Team.  You must be a team player with a pro-active can-do approach, have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively at all levels across the council including with elected members, senior leadership team and other stakeholders.

We seek a qualified solicitor with or entitled to a practising certificate who will enjoy a varied workload to advise on all areas of planning law ranging from advice on house extensions and agricultural development to large commercial or housing developments.  You will also have the opportunity to deal with planning enforcement, drafting and negotiating S.106 agreements, supporting advice to planning committee meetings, appeals and planning policy matters.

Ideally, you should have significant post qualification experience and a sound knowledge of planning law. Applications are also invited from individuals with significant experience of either property, civil or local government law who are keen to move into planning law.

You must also be organised, enthusiastic and willing to contribute effectively to a team working in a busy office and agile environment.
