Would you like to undertake varied, high-quality legal work with like-minded and supportive colleagues who are committed to providing excellent public service and making a difference within the local community?

We wish to recruit up to three flexible, highly skilled lawyers to join our Property and Commercial Development Legal Team. You must have experience of and a genuine enthusiasm for property law and an excellent approach to public service and client care. Candidates from both the public and private sectors are encouraged to apply.

The Role:

You will provide legal advice, support and representation in relation to all of the Authority’s property matters, carrying a varied caseload ranging from routine property transactions and landlord and tenant matters through to complex strategic developments, commercial property work and regeneration projects. The role encompasses all aspect of property related practice and you can expect to have an interesting a varied workload which results in tangible and high-profile improvements to the local community and built environment.

The team also deal with matters relating to planning and highways so any experience of (or an interest in developing knowledge in those areas) would be welcome, but is not essential.

As this is a broad role a degree of flexibility and willingness to undertake a varied property caseload is essential. You may also be asked to provide support and guidance to other members of the team or undertake work in other areas. You will however receive all necessary support and we have a strong culture of teamwork within the Department.
