Welcome to the South London Legal Partnership (SLLP)

We provide a wide range of legal services to the London Boroughs of Merton, Richmond, Sutton, Wandsworth and Royal Borough of Kingston, making us the largest local authority shared legal service in the country. As such, we are able to offer employment opportunities across all aspects of local government legal work. We take pride in offering a high quality and proactive legal service, bringing all the insight that being an in house service involves and combining that with commercial expertise and a breadth of experience smaller teams may not be able to offer.

We are based in South West London and in normal times, our team can work out of any of 5 locations as well as remotely - agile working has been business as usual for a long time in SLLP. We have a wide range of flexible working options and have developed a number of health and well-being initiatives over the years.

As well as offering exciting employment opportunities in local government work, SLLP are committed to the career development of its staff by sponsoring employees who want to obtain further or specialist legal qualifications or qualifications in management and leadership skills.

SLLP have also recently introduced a mentoring scheme that enables staff to be supported and encouraged to manage their own learning in order that they may maximise their potential, develop their skills, improve their performance and become the person they want to be.

We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic applicants, keen to develop their skills in a public sector environment. Please do not be put off if you have not worked in local government before – it is your determination to provide a top class legal service that will matter most.

SLLP is seeking to recruit a Senior Procurement lawyer and 2 Procurement Lawyers with proven track records in public sector procurement, either working in the public sector or in private practice with a public sector client base.  These roles will be providing a service that covers a diverse workload dealing with complex and high profile matters including regeneration/construction, IT contracts and the creation of companies and shared services. The successful candidates will have excellent communication, drafting skills and the ability to provide legal advice to a variety of audiences, including senior officers and Members.

The Senior Procurement Lawyer post will have managerial responsibilities supervising up to 3 procurement lawyers and so previous experience of supervising staff is desirable but not essential.

For further information about the role please contact Fabiola Hickson 020 8545 4666.

Interviews will be held on 15 February 2022

Closing date: January 31 2022
