Working within one of the largest legal teams in local government, you will be involved in complex, challenging work at this exciting time in Birmingham City Council’s future. Your workload will focus on assisting with claims brought against the City Council under Section 11 Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, and may also involve issuing possession proceedings and injunctions sought in respect of anti-social behaviour. Advocacy skills and a willingness to further develop the same would be a distinct advantage.

We are seeking an individual who has successfully completed the Institute of Legal Executives or equivalent examination and will ideally have post qualification experience of advising on Housing Litigation, Homelessness and Community Safety matters, and be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the application of the law in these areas. You should be able to inspire confidence on the part of clients, be a team player and have the ability to inspire and support the team to maximise its potential.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent administrative, organisational, written and verbal communication skills as well as an ability to work to a high standard as part of a team in a pressurised environment.
