We have a great opportunity for a Public Law Litigation Solicitor to join our Litigation team.

Our Litigation team regularly act for local authorities in respect of judicial reviews and statutory appeals to the High Court as well as individuals challenging decisions of local authorities. The subject matter of such judicial reviews is varied and includes planning, education, child care and transport. The team also regularly acts on procurement challenges for central and local government, housing associations and, on occasion, economic operators. They have substantial experience in advising on and acting in ending contract-making suspensions, pre-action/early disclosure and confidentiality rings.

The role
The role will cover public procurement and commercial regulation including procurement challenges. You will also be involved in judicial reviews and guide claimants and defendants through the whole judicial review process.

You will have the opportunity to work closely alongside the partners in the team and take a lead on matters of your own.You will take early responsibility for your work and be trusted to get on with things in a supportive, collaborative and sociable setting.

About you
You will have previous experience working on Public Law Litigation in a commercial firm or in local government. You will ideally have experience of public procurement and commercial regulation including procurement challenges. You will have knowledge of and experience in Local Government law and knowledge and expertise in Judicial Review and vires.

You must be bright, an effective communicator, a strong team player with the ability to manage a complex and varied workload effectively. You will have a genuine interest in public sector work and a desire to learn and progress your career in Public Law Litigation.
