Salary: £38,890 - £41,881 per annum

Hours per week: 37 hours per week

We are looking for two enthusiastic solicitors or barristers to join our busy Children’s Social Care Legal Team based to fill the following posts:

i. one permanent post;
ii. one maternity cover post (for a term up to 12 months).

The primary focus of each post is to run a varied caseload of care and placement proceedings but also to provide effective legal advice in respect of fostering, adoption and other general children’s social care matters. You will be expected to undertake a level of advocacy commensurate with your experience.

A working knowledge of care proceedings is necessary. Experience of working in a local authority would be advantageous; however, lawyers from private practice will also be considered as you would be working as part of an experienced and supportive team.

In accordance with Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2021, staff deployed to work in CQC registered care homes providing accommodation and nursing or personal care are required to have full vaccination status or a medical exemption before working or being deployed into work settings covered by the legislation.

Applicants to positions covered by these regulations are required to provide certified evidence of their vaccination status or medical exemption as part of any pre employment checks.
