Job Description:

£39,177 - £44,476

We are looking for someone to join our team to provide legal advice and support, this will include advice, representation, assisting with access to the relevant legal resources, budgeting and client managing its external legal providers.

The main areas of work will be;
- new disrepair protocol cases and assisting the repairs team with client managing cases which are currently with our external legal providers.
- advice to housing managers, operations staff and senior members of staff as required understanding when it is necessary to obtain external legal advice and assisting with this.
- monitoring legal spend on an ongoing basis, identifying risks and working with the relevant teams in order to mitigate these risks.
- you will have a working knowledge of how to use possession claim online, so that you can process income legal referrals and instruct our external legal providers to attend hearings.
- you will have a good understanding of housing management, housing law and the Civil Procedure Rules, and understand the relationship between an Arms Length Organisation and a Local Authority.
- you will be required to also have a working knowledge of leasehold legislation and its application in addition to the ability to undertake legal research and convey findings.
- you will need to confidently client manage our external legal providers
- maintaining the legal knowledge library and providing training to staff.

You will have good client care skills, be approachable, adaptable and a problem solver.
