£38,890-£43,857 Per annum

A full-time permanent role for an Adult Social Care solicitor/lawyer to work within a growing legal team alongside experienced Adult Social Care lawyers. Within this role you will be predominantly expected to advise internal clients in relation to all aspects of Adult Social Care, with a focus on Court of Protection work as well as ancillary matters such as ordinary residence; responsibilities under the Care Act 2014; funding disputes; Mental Health Act 1986 queries. An ability to correspond and effectively communicate with various stakeholders including other local authorities, health professionals, and counsel is vital, and the ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in working within this area of law, either on behalf of local authorities or in private practice. As such, relevant experience is essential to what is considered to be a specific legal role.

We are seeking an individual that can demonstrate a strong work ethic, a professional attitude, and an ability to work both under pressure and with limited supervision, as well as having a desire to work in local authority.

Due to current COVID-19 circumstances, council employees are currently working remotely. The council is undertaking a review of the way in which employees will work in future.

The successful applicant will need to be admitted as a Solicitor or called to the Bar or be a Chartered Legal Executive.
