Salary: £39,880 - £43,857

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Civil Litigation Team for a Grade 9 lawyer.  We are looking for some with a recognised Legal qualification (Solicitor, Barrister or FILEX) who has extensive knowledge and experience of working within civil litigation.  The work of the team is fast-paced and the subject matter can be challenging. The workload is varied and will involve providing legal representation, advocacy, advice and support on all aspects of civil litigation focusing on disrepair.  It will also include public sector housing law, contract, negligence, nuisance, commercial disputes including and debt recovery (private individuals and commercial undertakings) and all other civil torts.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, flexible, has a keen eye for detail and is knowledgeable in civil litigation work. Experience of working within local authorities is an advantage.

The position is available full-time though part-time hours will be considered.  We offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities, which benefit you and the Council
