During this unprecedented time, we have ensured that our staff have the right tools and support to work remotely.

We are currently working remotely and anticipate our future working arrangements will include opportunities to continue working remotely, subject to business need and the requirements of the role to attend Court hearings and meetings in person.

The recent launch of the Birmingham & Solihull Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC) pilot will provide you with an opportunity of experiencing the successes of an alternative family court for care proceedings.

Furthermore, the team is involved in a number of new projects which you will be encouraged to be a part of.

About you

The Senior Solicitor/Barrister/FCILEx is open to those with management responsibility. Taking responsibility for the more complex and challenging cases and providing guidance and support to other members of the team. Conducting advocacy on contested and non contested cases. With the vast majority of court hearings still being conducted remotely, there may be occasional instances where the cases are physically heard in court.

You will be experienced in public childcare law either from private practice or other sector.

The recent launch of the Birmingham & Solihull Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC) pilot will provide you with an opportunity of experiencing the successes of an alternative family court for care proceedings. 

The role is currently home-based with a structured induction and daily support from the team, and Head of Service/Principal Lawyer.
