Job Description:

We have a great opportunity for a solicitor to join our Infrastructure department.

The award-winning team has advised on some of the most significant and complex infrastructure deals in the UK in the last decade. The team act for local government and central government, utilities, contractors and regulators, providing legal advice and guide multi-disciplinary teams through complex procurement, negotiation and due diligence processes.

Recent work includes:
  • Commercial and procurement advice on a number of UK top 40 priority projects
  • Advising on complex procurement of infrastructure under PCR and UCR regimes
  • Advising a water utility on delivery of a new reservoir
  • Advising on Thames Tideway Tunnel project (London’s ‘super sewer’)
  • Providing end to end advice on the procurement and construction of numerous waste and energy from waste PPP / PFI projects
  • Advice on Ofwat’s new direct procurement for customers
  • Advising on energy projects, including energy from waste (EfW), photovoltaic and renewable heat initiatives
  • Advising local authorities on delivery of decentralised energy, including district heating schemes
About you
You need to have experience in at least one of the following: construction contracts (and especially NEC), procurement law, energy and renewables or public law. If you do not have experience in those areas but have a strong interest, we would be willing to set a learning task and short test to see if you could pick it up quickly.

What is really important is that you are genuinely interested in infrastructure and energy, are highly academic and are confident socially because our work involves meeting and immersing yourself in large and varied teams.

You will have the opportunity to work closely alongside the partners in the team and take a lead on matters of your own. You will take early responsibility for your work and be trusted to get on with things in a supportive, collaborative and sociable setting.
