Are you looking for a varying legal role where you can help make a true difference to the lives of children and families?

We need a Senior Legal Officer to support our children’s services. We are looking for ambitious individuals, with detailed knowledge of law and practice relating to Safeguarding Children and Family Support, a relevant qualification (e.g. solicitor, barrister or legal executive) and the confidence to act autonomously in supporting all the relevant aspects of legal work.

The position of Senior Legal Officer – Safeguarding and Family Support, offers an opportunity to lead on providing advice, assistance, and representation on all matters relating to safeguarding children and family support. This includes attendance at court, preparation of complex legal documentation, negotiation, and research.

The post holder will be able to communicate effectively to establish productive relationships with a wide range of people, under potentially difficult and challenging circumstances, to ultimately improve outcomes for children and their families.

As Senior Legal Officer – Safeguarding and Family Support it’s also implicit that the post holder be able to work effectively under tight timescales, with excellent organisation skills, and the aptitude to deal with challenging situations when they arise. You will need to be a strong team player, flexible, enthusiastic, and committed.   

You will be part of a committed and dynamic service striving at pace to provide better outcomes for children and families, operating in an encouraging environment that will allow you to develop and achieve your career goals.

Preference will be given to those applicants who can evidence meeting the essential criteria for Level 3 within the job description and person specification.
