Job Description:

About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Planning Lawyer to join a busy in-house legal team. Reigate & Banstead Borough Council is a forward thinking and ambitious authority and are looking for an outstanding legal professional to act in all legal planning matters. As the successful candidate you will support the growing legal team with planning work. This would include routine transactional type matters as well as advice and support for complex projects and policy issues, all working towards achieving the Council’s ambitious commercial agenda.

About the Person
The successful candidate will ideally be an experienced Planning Lawyer dealing with their own case load of work. We are very open minded about what level this role is recruited to and are happy to consider applicants with around 2 years PQE, right through to applicants with considerably more experience. A key attribute is that you are team spirited, have an ambition to succeed and a passion for this area of law.

Staff Benefits
In exchange for your expertise, experience and enthusiasm, we will offer support in continuing your personal and career development, in addition to providing a wide range of employment linked benefits. We offer a range of options regarding your working week and this includes working from home. For example, working your full-time hours over a 9-day fortnight or 19 days in every 4-week period, or condensed into fewer days, or requesting to work part-time.

We provide you with competitive annual leave and contribute 15% towards the LGPS pension scheme. You will also have access to a range of discounts including local and high street stores, and salary sacrifice schemes including a cycle lease scheme, and ‘Better’ leisure centre membership.
