Salary to £65,000 (Grade MG4)

We are looking for an experienced property lawyer with extensive 
experience in dealing with commercial property transactions, regeneration projects, housing delivery projects and drafting development agreements.

The ideal candidate will also have  experience of advising on statutory rules on connection with disposals and appropriation in local government, state aid rules, funding agreements, awareness of public procurement rules and commercialisation in local government.

We are looking for a qualified solicitor or barrister with strong management and local government experience to lead our Commercial Team. You will be responsible for managing a multi-disciplinary team of lawyers dealing with contract, commercial property and highways work. You will be required to deputise for the Assistant Director of Legal Services and assist in managing Legal Service as a whole.

The ideal candidate will have experience in advising in data protection, Freedom of Information and governance issues. You will have a sound understanding of the decision making process in local government and  be able to advise on all aspects of local government law. As Principal lawyer you will be required to maintain a member profile and attend evening committee meetings.

We are looking for a talented, proactive, and pragmatic lawyer who is able to work effectively with client departments to find solutions. You will need to manage a significant case load as well as carry out management responsibilities.
