£51,387 - £52,425 per annum plus an annually reviewable market supplement up to £8,000

The South London Legal Partnership, hosted by the London Borough of Merton provides a five borough shared legal service to Merton, Richmond, Kingston, Sutton and Wandsworth councils. The SLLP is working in an exciting and innovative environment where lawyers are providing high quality diverse legal services to five boroughs. The SLLP’s ethos is based on excellent client care with a ‘can do’ attitude. 

The SLLP wish to recruit and develop people who are committed to improving the customer experience, are highly motivated, and who relish the opportunity of working across the five councils. The SLLP is easily able to provide an exciting role with the opportunity to develop an interesting workload and advise a number of high profile clients in important services.  We are committed to developing individuals’ legal skills and will provide exciting personal development opportunities as well as career progression.

The SLLP is seeking to recruit a Principal Lawyer with establish local government experience to assist in managing a large team of property lawyers with particular focus on land dealings including complex disposal; regeneration, CPO and asset management whilst working closely with others in the delivery of the wider Property & Procurement legal services. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and drafting skills and the ability to provide legal advice to a variety of audiences, including senior officers and Members.
