We are currently recruiting for a Housing Solicitor to work within our legal services team who can solve problems, inspire client confidence, understand commercial strategies and provide a high quality legal service to and on behalf of the Council. The main focuses of the role include; legal advice to the housing services teams, advising members on legal matters relevant to the Council and assist the legal services manager where required.

The post holder will also be required to undertake advocacy and represent the Council in regards to court proceedings in the County Court and Tribunals in related matters.

We are looking for applicants who have experience in practice as a qualified Solicitor or Barrister and experience of advising on housing litigation and community safety.

Successful applicants will have;
  • Experience of dealing with the public
  • 2 years in a post qualification role requiring advocacy
  • Qualified barrister or solicitor (able to obtain or has a current practising certificate)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of housing law and practice in the required areas.
  • A valid driving Licence and car or use of a car for work purposes.
Ideally the successful candidate will have experience in a supervisory role.
