Employer type:

Job Description:

Our starting salary is £32,000. Additionally, we offer 25 days holiday and a grant towards LPC costs (subject to terms and conditions).

The application window for training contracts and SQE qualifying work experience at Sharpe Pritchard beginning in September 2022 is now open.

Training contract programme
We usually recruit between three and five trainees every year. We aim to provide legal experience in all core areas of our practice: commercial contracts and procurement, dispute resolution and judicial review, employment, planning and parliamentary, real estate, construction, infrastructure and ICT and data.  Trainees usually experience four seats at the firm and are given the opportunity to express preferences throughout, which are given serious consideration by the partners when deciding seat changes.

Our trainees are often given the opportunity to go on secondment with clients, usually for part of the working week. This gives invaluable exposure to and experience of our client organisations which include national government agencies, police forces, NHS trusts and local authorities.

SQE: Springboard
In this transitional period before the SQE is formally launched, we are inviting applications from people who are intending to take that route, if their period of qualifying work experience is intended to start in September 2022. Our specially tailored “SPringboard” academy proposal will commence in September 2022 for anyone who expresses preference for that route in their application and is successful. They would train alongside candidates who chose the training contract route.

Career prospects
We have very good retention rates for our trainees. A number of our partners trained at the firm. All our solicitors are on a career development framework which provides transparency to our career structure (solicitor to associate to senior associate to salaried partner).

Closing Date: 31 July 2020
