£25,150 - £29,636 (pay award pending)

We are looking for a competent Executive Secretary to support the Borough Secretary and Monitoring Officer at Northampton Borough Council. You will be the one to organize and maintain the Borough Secretary’s schedule and diary amongst other administrative tasks to ensure a smooth running office. You’ll need to regularly liaise with Democratic Services, the Chief Executive and other important figures within the Council.

The ideal candidate must be proactive, a self-starter with great time-management and multitasking abilities. They will need to have a solid background in PA/Executive Secretary work with a proven track record, proficiency in MS Office and be incredibly organised. Attention to detail is essential and excellent written and verbal communication is desired.

The Job:

As a member of the Borough Secretary’s departmental team, you will act as a personal assistant to the Borough Secretary and Monitoring Officer in all matter relating to the effective management of his/her work.

The Person:

In this role the successful candidate will be part of the wider team legal team and assist the Borough Secretary and Monitoring Officer in his/her duties.

Duties will include: -

  • Administrative support
  • Minute taking
  • Diary management
  • Type and prepare various legal documents
