£36,876 to £40,760
 
Applications are invited for a qualified Solicitor or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives to join the Litigation section of Devon County Council’s Legal Department. 

The post will involve a varied civil and criminal litigation caseload to include Trading Standards and Education prosecutions, conduct of civil proceedings in the County Court and the provision of legal advice on a wide range of legal matters including highways, education and planning.

Some previous Local Government experience is desirable but not essential, however applicants will demonstrate that they have a keen interest in working in the public sector. The post will require some advocacy experience and the post-holder will be required to attend court on a regular basis. The willingness to learn new areas of law and ability to provide fast-paced legal advice on a variety of legal topics is essential.
