Adults/Education Manager – 37 hours – £46,028 - £52,803
 
We are looking for an experienced and committed Senior Solicitor to manage a small team of lawyers dealing with a range of matters including:
 
•       Adult Social Care matters including adult safeguarding
•       Court of Protection
•       Care Act
•       Social care debt and finance
•       Mental Health
•       Education law
 
This is a busy and supportive team and the role is a challenging and dynamic one. We are looking for a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with extensive knowledge in Adult Social Care work and a demonstrable ability and willingness to transfer your legal skills to areas of the team’s work that may not be currently within your expertise. You will be able to research and anticipate the effects on service provision of new developments in the law for clients; provide legal and procedural advice and training to clients as required and supervise colleagues in the Legal Service as appropriate.
 
Candidates with experience from a Local Authority setting would be preferable as a sound understanding of local government and administrative law, and an appreciation of the challenges facing local authorities will be key to your role.
 
You will have good communication and presentation skills, good customer care skills and good analytical and problem solving skills. The ability to work under pressure to deadlines, and well developed leadership and staff supervision skills is essential. You will ideally have experience of attending committees and be able to attend occasional evening meetings.
