£46,752 - £50,233

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the management team of Leicester City Council’s legal services on a fixed term basis. We are looking for a confident self-motivated individual to provide commercially focused legal advice, manage and lead the Commercial Team and act as lead lawyer on a range of high profile and challenging matters. You will work in a supportive environment with responsibility for a well-established team, in addition to having your own varied caseload of commercial, contract and general local government law matters.
You will need

You will be a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive with substantial experience of PQE in the area of Commercial and Contract law.

With experience of managing, supervising and supporting a team, you will motivate and drive the team to deliver a comprehensive legal service to the council.

You will have experience of acting as the lead lawyer in commercial and contract law as well as experience of Local Government.

Your will have knowledge of commercial and contract (including public procurement) law, practice and procedure at an advanced level to provide clear and concise advice whilst having knowledge of the requirements of Local Government law, and the advising upon the associated restrictions and considerations

1x Fixed Term contract for up to 12 months
