Are you looking for a management career/your next career step in a fast-paced, highly influential and innovative team?

Cumbria County Council is looking for an experienced property lawyer to join the Legal and Democratic Services team as Senior Lawyer – Property.

The Council has a substantial property portfolio held in relation to all of the Council's business areas, and we provide Legal Services to support the Council in managing that portfolio. We provide a range of advice to Council officers on a variety of commercial property matters and work closely with project teams such as the Council's Infrastructure Recovery Programme and the Carlisle Southern Link Road Scheme.

The Role
As a Senior Lawyer, you will oversee the day-to-day management and supervision of the property team within legal services; you will work as business partner to the Council’s Property team to ensure the provision of the most appropriate and cost-effective management of the Council’s property portfolio. You will also contribute to the management of the wider Legal Services and support the organisation in achieving a high standard of corporate governance.

Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced lawyer able to manage their own caseload of commercial property matters without supervision whilst supervising others.  We are keen to hear from candidates looking to develop and progress, as we offer excellent career progression and we strongly encourage flexible working to support and enable our team.

If you are looking for a new challenge, in a friendly, supportive and professionally stimulating environment, then we want to hear from you.
